Thanks to everyone who attended the Salt Lake County Convention last Saturday. I especially want to thank Sue Schulman who helped us secure the location for this event.
It was a successful convention, and it was wonderful to meet the other Salt Lake County Candidates that I will be serving with in the next term. Each candidate had three minutes to outline their objectives prior to voting, and I was pleased to learn that most of our priorities are aligned.
As a reminder, my primary objectives are: (1) to save the Great Salt Lake; (2) to address affordability for Utahans; and (3) to prepare our State for the 2034 Olympics. Now more than ever, these issues are even more critical than when I first announced my candidacy. Having just had one of the warmest winters on record here in Utah, our water supply is even more stressed than ever, and we must act now to save our lake! With the war in the middle east, our energy costs are rising, and our supply chains are under even more stress making affordability even more challenging for all Utahans. Solving these issues will greatly improve our state and make it a model for visitors from around the world who visit during the 2034 Olympics.
Thank you all for your support and for your vote that helped me secure the nomination to represent Senate District 13 in the November election. The other candidates that secured nominations were:
Maleah Bliss, Salt Lake County Council At-Large District A
J Lowry Snow, Senate District 9
Travis Alico, Utah House District 26
Jeffrey Marshall, Utah House District 27
John Jackson, Utah House District 40
This is an exciting time for Utah and the Forward Party! Together, we can help change our government to begin representing the people of Utah instead of serving special interests. I am looking forward to reaching across party lines to create unity and consensus to solve these issues that face our great State!
I look “forward” to seeing all of you at our State-wide Convention on April 11. Visit utahforwardparty.org for directions and to RSVP for this event. Together we can move Utah Forward!
